Application Timetable

  • School advertises via the school newsletter, and web site.
  • Final application deadline.
  • Tests will be scheduled for short-listed candidates.
  • Scholarship Renewal and New Candidates are reviewed at the regularly scheduled, May meeting of the KIS Advisory Board. Renewals are decided (on a preliminary basis, conditional on final grades). Students whose scholarships are not being renewed are notified. Interview procedure is decided.
  • Top candidates will be invited to interview with the KIS Advisory Board.
  • New Scholarship Recipients are notified.
  • The Director of the School and the Director of Instruction review final grades. In case of non-renewal of any student’s scholarship that was initially approved on a preliminary basis, the KIS Advisory Board is informed via e-mail.
 

STATEMENT OF UNDERSTANDING

  • By applying for an academic scholarship and signing below, applicants and their families attest to their understanding of and acceptance of the following guidelines:
  • 1. The KIS Advisory Board has the final say in all matters related to academic scholarships and will act in the best interests of the school.
  • 2. The KIS Advisory Board reserves the right to accept or deny any applicant for scholarship and to alter or halt the process at any time.
  • 3. The community will be notified of the scholarship application window via the school newsletter, which is available online or at the school. Families are responsible for submitting all requested paperwork within the announced deadlines. Incomplete applications will have a negative impact on the likelihood of success.
  • 4. Applicants will be assessed for likelihood that KIS is a school where the applicant is likely to flourish and succeed Academically and Socially. Applicants will also be assessed for their financial need. Assessments may consist of formal testing, writing samples, prior school records, references, interviews, etc.
  • 5. Applicants may be required to attend testing sessions and to submit supporting documents. Testing sessions are scheduled in advance. Testing, if requested, is a mandatory part of the application process.
  • 6. Parents and/or students may be asked to attend a personal interview. The interview, if requested, is a mandatory part of the application process.
  • 7. We the undersigned attest to the accuracy of the information supplied in this application, in all supporting documents, and in all interview answers.
